Sound Healing
Sound Healing
1-on-1 sound bath immersion for a more personal experience
Service Description
Sound Healing is one of the oldest and most universal forms of healing found across ancient cultures, from Tibetan singing bowls to Indigenous drumming and Vedic mantra. The body is mostly water and water transmits vibration. Sound moves through us, not just around us. When we are bathed in resonant tones, the nervous system softens, brainwaves shift, and the parts of us that have been holding on can begin to let go. A Sound Healing session at Wildlight takes place lying down, fully clothed, on a heated, cushioned table or floor mat in a warm, quiet room. Eyes are typically closed. You don't have to do anything. Your practitioner plays a curated arrangement of instruments like Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, tuning forks, and sometimes voice which are placed around or directly on the body. The session unfolds in waves: layers of sound build, hold, and dissolve, each one inviting you deeper into rest. Many clients describe the experience as feeling held by sound. You may notice physical sensations like vibration moving through the bones, warmth, or tingling alongside shifts in mental state: dreamlike imagery, drifting between waking and sleep, time stretching or collapsing. Research has measured how vibrational frequencies guide the brain from beta into alpha, theta, and delta states: the brainwaves of deep meditation and restorative sleep. You don't need to "try." The sound does the work. Sound Healing is especially supportive for chronic stress, sleep difficulties, anxiety, burnout, grief, and the kind of mental noise that talk-based practices can't quite reach. It's also a welcome option for clients who don't want to be touched or who find traditional meditation difficult. It works alongside, but never in place of your medical and mental health care. How to prepare: come hydrated and comfortably dressed. A light meal beforehand is best. Bring or wear layers as many clients cool down during deep rest. Afterward, give yourself time to return slowly. The integration often continues into the night's sleep. Disclaimer: Sound Healing sessions are not a substitute for medical care.
