Acupuncture
Traditional and ear acupuncture to restore meridian flow and support the body's natural healing.
Service Description
A practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been refined over more than 2,000 years, acupuncture is one of the world's oldest medical systems. At its foundation is the understanding that vital energy, called Qi, moves through the body along pathways known as meridians. When that flow is disrupted by stress, illness, injury, or the wear of daily life, symptoms emerge. Acupuncture works by inserting fine, sterile, single-use needles at specific points along these meridians to restore flow, calm the nervous system, and activate the body's natural capacity to heal. Your first session begins with a thorough intake: a look at your medical history, current symptoms, sleep, digestion, energy, and emotional landscape. Your practitioner may take your pulse and examine your tongue as traditional diagnostic tools that map the patterns behind your symptoms. Treatment is tailored to you. Sessions take place on a heated, cushioned table in a warm, quiet room. Needles are typically left in place for 20 to 40 minutes while you rest. We also offer non-invasive options including ear acupuncture and acupressure. Most people describe needle insertion as a slight tap or pinprick that fades immediately. Once the needles are in place, you may notice warmth, heaviness, a gentle ache, or a spreading sensation (known in Chinese medicine as "the arrival of Qi") or you may feel nothing at all. Many clients drift into a deep, restful state during treatment. Acupuncture is widely used to support chronic pain, headaches, anxiety, insomnia, digestive issues, hormonal balance, fertility, and injury recovery. It pairs well with conventional medical care and supports nervous system regulation alongside other treatments. How to prepare: eat a light meal a few hours before and arrive hydrated. Wear loose clothing that allows easy access to your arms and legs. After your session, drink water, move gently, and avoid strenuous exercise or alcohol that day. Mild soreness at needle points is normal and resolves quickly.
