About the event

Spring Equinox Yin - Making Space for New Growth

Join us for a celebratory two-hour spring equinox practice with yin yoga teacher, wilderness lover, and feminist theologian Kate Lassiter, PhD, 500-hr RYT.

Spring equinox in the northern hemisphere is a time to mark a transition from hibernation to new growth. As the trees begin to bud and new saplings root, we celebrate this moment by making space. In the yin and Taoist yoga system, spring brings a yang or active energy associated with the element of wood, an eastward direction, and the liver and gallbladder organs.

Come celebrate new beginnings with a quiet practice designed to help you make space as you emotionally declutter, rev up the organs that help you digest and detoxify, and remember that promise and possibility arrive at the dawn.

Props will be provided by Wildlight Yoga for in-person attendance. Option to also bring your own eye pillow & journal too.

About your instructor:

With a voice that calms nerves, Kate specializes in the Taoist yoga tradition. She completed her 200-hour training with Matt Eshelman at You Do Yoga, focusing on functional anatomy and yin yoga, and her 500-hour training with Will Brashear at Lotus Yoga Temple, focusing on the integration of Thai Yoga, the meridians, and five element theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Kate draws from her vast skill set across the yogic tradition and healing arts, her love for the land, and her doctoral training in Religion and Psychology to offer classes and workshops that invite students toward embodied wisdom and inner knowing.
