About the event
Join us for a celebratory two-hour yin practice to get going on spring cleaning with yin-thusiast Kate Lassiter. We’re going to move the stagnation of winter and sweep out all that no longer serves us. Let’s make some room for new energies!
Spring equinox in the northern hemisphere is a time to mark a transition from hibernation to new growth. As the trees begin to bud and new saplings root, we celebrate this moment by making space for new growth. In the yin and Taoist yoga system, spring brings a yang or active energy associated with the element of wood, an eastward direction, and the liver and gallbladder organs. As such, we'll be focusing on yin poses that emphasize inner thighs, IT band, side body, and twists. We'll end our practice with an extended, sweet svasana that opens the heart. Physical adjustments will be available to in-person students, if desired.
Come celebrate new beginnings with a practice designed to help you make space as you emotionally declutter, rev up the organs that help you digest and detoxify, and remember that promise and possibility arrive at the dawn. We might even dance ourselves clean!
