Spiritus Dance Chicago

After an amazing event in the Sacred Valley of Peru, Sydney and I are bringing SPIRITUS DANCE to Chicago!!! We are so very excited for our community to experience the merging of breath and dance within a sacred container.

Join us on a journey into the heart, mind, body and soul through the sacred weaving between breath & dance. Breathwork as a healing modality is as an inward journey into the deepest parts of our being that need deep healing and attention. Dance as a healing modality is an outward movement and expression to feel, release, embrace, and embody the parts of us that need healing and attention. Merging breathwork and dance creates a dynamic sacred union and profound healing experience.

As we begin the practice we will let our breath guide us deep into our bodies to come to an understanding of the power of our inner guidance and knowing, allowing our breath to be our primary dance partner. And as we let our bodies feel our breath as its guide, we will begin to feel the power of moving and dancing with our breath. This sacred union of breath and dance will open up our hearts to explore the profound connection with ourselves and others in the dance space creating an evening of transformation and healing.

Contact Beyond Contact (CBC) is a dance and healing practice that integrates Authentic Movement (AM), Contact Improvisation (CI) and Passing Through (PT) with profound practices of qigong, yoga, healing modalities and energy work, mindfulness and leadership skills, somatics and principles of behaviorism, as well as the philosophies of Buddhism, and Taoism.

About Matthew: Matthew Stackowicz is a Contact Beyond Contact level 3 dance facilitator, embodiment coach, ceremonialist, men’s circle facilitator, breathwork guide, shamanic reiki master, international photographer, retreat facilitator, and father of two amazing children. His home base is in South Bend, IN and Chicago, IL but he travels the world to lead sacred circles, retreats, dance and embodiment workshops and photographs humans in connection to their own hearts and each other. He currently hosts sacred circles, embodiment practices, dance containers, and other workshops in South Bend, IN, Chicago, IL, and other nearby locations.

About Sydney: Sydney Foltz is a trauma informed Sacred Breathwork Facilitator, Energy Healer, Feminine Embodiment Leader, Spiritual mentor and curator of sacred spaces for deep, transformative healing. Through her years of discovering, learning and training in different healing modalities and medicines she has found the breath to be the most powerful medicine to work with - because its the medicine that lives within you.
