Moon Village is a sacred circle meeting monthly to release, manifest, and commune with the cycles of the moon.
The Sturgeon moon is named for a type of large fish that are easiest to catch in the Great Lakes in August when they rise toward the surface of the water. The word "sturgeon" means "stirrer", because they usually lurk near the bottom of the lake, stirring up the mud. These enormous fish are often called "living fossils" because they have retained many of their primitive characteristics of their ancestors. Throughout history, they have often been mistaken as sea monsters.
The full Sturgeon Moon invites us to introspect and ask ourselves what's lurking beneath the depths. Are there feelings or stories buried deep inside you that haven't yet surfaced? What's being stirred up, and can you release + set it free? We do not truly house "demons" and monsters - just…
