Acerca del evento

Join us for a special two hour new moon yin yoga practice with yin yoga teacher, wilderness lover, and feminist theologian Kate Lassiter, PhD, 500 hr-RYT.

In Taoist Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine, fall is the season associated with the element of metal or air. As leaves and acorns fall, they carry sustenance for the future flourishing of all creation, refuse to cling, and let go without regret. The lungs and the large intestine are two organs that receive attention during this season as we let go, surrender, and breathe without regret in this sacred moment. Come join in a sacred, quiet practice where we let go of our imperfections with ease and receive inspiration from the heavens, appreciating the gem-like nature of ourselves and others shining through.

In Yin, we work into the fascia, ligaments, and joints by allowing the body to receive a posture, staying and settling in for a few minutes at a time. All levels welcome.

About your instructor:

With a voice that soothes jangled nerves, Kate (she/her) specializes in the Taoist yoga tradition. She completed her 200-hour training with Matt Eshelman at You Do Yoga, focusing on functional anatomy and yin yoga, and her 500-hour training with Will Brashear at Lotus Yoga Temple, focusing on the integration of Thai Yoga, the meridians, and five element theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Kate draws from her vast skill set across the yogic tradition and healing arts, her love for the land, and her doctoral training in Religion and Psychology to offer classes and workshops that invite students toward embodied wisdom and inner knowing.
