About the Instructor:
Kelli Wefenstette (she/her) came to yoga seeking movement post-college after a childhood of dance and acrobats. In addition, she quickly found relief from a lifetime of anxiety, substantial grief, and the pain of chronic illness. Yoga brought her safely home to her body as her magic and her medicine for living abundantly and unapologetically. Yoga is her freedom journey towards a life of awakening, authenticity, and adventure.
Her teaching style focuses on curious movement, alignment, somatics, and exploration of body mechanics combined with mindfulness and emotional regulation for an empowered, embodied experience on and off the mat.
Kelli earned her BA in Psychology and Religious Studies from Monmouth College and a MA in Social Justice and Community Development from Loyola University Chicago. She completed a 200-hr Hatha Yoga teacher training with Global Yoga and Wellness and a 300-hr Elemental Yoga teacher training in Ubud, Bali with Lotus Yoga Temple. She has completed further studies in prenatal yoga, trauma-informed yoga, Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Thai Yoga Massage.
Kelli is also a Community Organizer trained in Asset-Based Community Development. She owns Wildlight Yoga in Chicago.
