OUR APPROACH TO YOGA
Yoga is the practice of a system of techniques for enriched living and the balanced integration of the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. Students come to yoga for enhanced benefits in fitness, stress relief, wellness, vitality, mental clarity, healing, peace of mind and spiritual growth.
Our classes combine meditation, exercises for self-awareness, breathing techniques, and physical postures to aid each of you in your individualized journeys. Teachers serve as facilitators for group practice and encourage each of you to honor the subtleties and capabilities of your own bodies in your practices. Classes are suitable for all levels unless otherwise noted.
We offer an abundance of classes each week across the diverse disciplines of yoga to engage each of you in a broadened exploration of your individualized practice. We encourage everyone to attend classes of every style to deepen and progress your yoga journey.
Level 1 classes will provide introduction to asana practice with basic poses, breath-work and transitions with sun salutations.
Level 2 classes will introduce more vigorous sequencing and more intensive inversions, back bends, and balancing poses.
Every instructor is trained to help to enhance your practice in each and every class by providing you modified postures, the use of props such as blankets, blocks, bolsters, straps, or chairs, and hands-on assists. Students will be invited to use our "Consent Cards" to indicate whether you would like to receive any hands-on adjustments. If you have any concerns that may affect your practice, please arrive early and notify your teacher prior to class.
Ashtanga: practiced by performing a rigorous, routine sequence of postures in the same, specified order
Chair: a gentle class in which students practice while utilizing a chair for support in order to deepen flexibility and strengthen personal body awareness.
Gentle: suitable for beginners or anyone with injuries, limited mobility, or needing a slow, guided practice
Hatha: a slower-paced, prop-friendly practice focused on alignment, muscle engagement, strength-building
Kundalini: aimed to awaken life force this class combines sets of postures, breath, and sound called kriyas
Prenatal: aimed to help you and this new life connect in a safe, sacred space of comfort and intimacy
Restorative: invites passive healing and release through complete comfort, surrender, and relaxation
Vinyasa: a dynamic flow linking constant movement through postures using guided breath for transition
Yin: a slow practice that invites stillness to passively work the bones, ligaments, joints, and fascial network
Receive one-on-one customized yoga instruction to fit your personal needs and goals which may include introduction to yoga, athletic and/or physical benefit, practice modification post-injury, therapeutic consideration, asana practice, guided meditation, or other reasons. Private Instruction can help you reach your mental, emotional, spiritual, or physical goals.
We also offer private Reiki sessions. The goal of Reiki is to restore balance and harmonies in the energy system, positioning you to self heal. A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on physical, mental, and emotional levels. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is utilized for ones personal wellness.
Sessions must be booked 24 hours in advance and are subject to instructor availability. These sessions are one-on-one and customized to your specific needs.
Students may book and pay for one-on-one sessions. Please note that instructors require 24 hours notice for schedule. Sessions may be rescheduled or cancelled at no cost with 24 hour notice. Students providing less than 24 hour notice will be charged full price and receive no refund or credit for the missed session.
