KELLI WEFENSTETTE
Founder, Director, 500hr Certified Yoga Teacher
Reiki Level 1, Akashic Records Level 1
Kelli Wefenstette is a seasoned yoga teacher, mentor, and community leader who guides students and teachers into deeper relationship with their practice, their truth, and their path. With over a decade of teaching experience and nearly twenty years of personal practice, she offers grounded, intuitive guidance to students and teachers seeking initiation into a sacred relationship with the teachings of yoga as they travel their path of spiritual awakening.
Drawing from the 8-Limbed Path and the koshic model of the self, Kelli teaches integration through alignment-based asana, somatic exploration, and spiritual psychology. Her work is grounded in the wisdom of the body and shaped by her background in psychology, community development, and nervous system healing. She supports students in building an embodied, sustainable, and lifelong soul-led practice and yogic lifestyle on and off the mat.
She holds a BA in Psychology and Religious Studies from Monmouth College and an MA in Social Justice and Community Development from Loyola University Chicago. Her certifications include 200 hours in Hatha Yoga from Global Yoga and Wellness with Kriya and Anusara influence and 300 hours in Elemental Yoga & Vishwa Ayurveda with Mysore infulence from Lotus Yoga Temple in Ubud, Bali. She’s also trained in prenatal and yin yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Thai Yoga Massage, and trauma-informed teaching.
Before founding Wildlight in 2018, she spent years working as a mental health case manager, grassroots community organizer and events planner, sustainability coordinator, and economic development non-profit director on the northwest side of Chicago, experiences that now inform her approach to integrating spirituality with social justice, ritual with everyday life, and healing in community.
Wildlight is more than a studio — it is a spiritual home and sanctuary for seekers walking the yogic path in modern times. Through classes, retreats, teacher training, mentorship, and soul study, Kelli stewards a space where the ancient teachings are not only preserved, but embodied, lived, and passed on.
When she’s not teaching or practicing, Kelli is crafting, thrifting, studying herbalism, or cuddling with her senior cat Jubilee.
