FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Wildlight is a yoga and healing arts studio providing space & tools for holistic wellness, spiritual exploration, integration, and intentional community. We offer yoga, meditation, healing practices that support nervous system regulation, embodied practices, and meaningful connection with yourself and with others. Wildlight is a temple in the modern world, a soulful sanctuary for the curious and the courageous to remember who they are.
Everything but hot yoga!
Our classes draw from multiple lineages and traditions, including Hatha, Kundalini, Vinyasa, Restorative, and Yin.
While styles vary by teacher, all classes share a common thread: mindful movement, clear cueing, respect for individual bodies, and space for inner awareness.
You donāt need to be flexible, experienced, or āgood at yogaā to belong here.
Yes. Being trauma-informed is a core value at Wildlight.
This means we strive to create an environment that is:
predictable and clearly communicated
consent-based and choice-oriented
respectful of boundaries
welcoming to nervous systems of all kinds
Teachers offer options rather than demands, encourage self-pacing, and avoid hands-on adjustments unless explicitly invited with the use of consent cards. You are always welcome to rest, modify, and honor your body above all else.
That said, trauma-informed does not mean unstructured or boundary-less. Clear policies and consistency are part of what helps many people feel safe.
Absolutely. Many students begin their yoga journey here.
You do not need prior experience, flexibility, or strength to attend. We utilize props in every single class and teachers offer posture variations and encourage you to listen to your own body. If youāre unsure where to start, weāre happy to help you choose a class that feels supportive.
You are not alone ... and you are welcome here.
Many members of our community identify as neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or managing anxiety, chronic stress, or burnout. We aim to create an environment that is calm, predictable, and respectful of sensory needs.
If you have specific concerns (lighting, sound, pacing, social interaction, etc.), youāre welcome to reach out before your first visit so we can help you choose a class or offer guidance.
Not in the traditional sense.
While classes can be physically strengthening and nourishing, our focus is not on performance, aesthetics, or pushing through pain. We approach movement as a tool for regulation, awareness, and relationship with the body.
Youāre encouraged to move in ways that feel sustainable ā not impressive or performative.
Wildlight is intentionally small, community-oriented, and values-led. We prioritize:
consistency and reliability
ethical business practices
fair pay for teachers
thoughtful pacing and class sizes
depth over volume
long-term relationships over drop-in culture
We see yoga as a lifelong, relational practice with ourselves, our teachers, and our community.
Wildlight may be a good fit if youāre looking for:
a slower, more grounded yoga experience
a trauma-aware and respectful environment
clear expectations and consistency
a community built on mutual care
space to explore practice over time
It may not be the right fit if youāre seeking:
high-intensity fitness classes
loud music or performance-driven movement
drop-in anonymity without shared agreements
unlimited flexibility around policies
Both needs are valid ... and we believe the right studio should feel like a yes. We invite you to take a Studio Tour to gain clarity and guidance as you discern if this is a good fit for you and to try our Adventure Month pass for your first month to get a feel for our community.
