Service Description

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing practice that works with the body's subtle energetic field to release blockages, restore balance, and create the conditions for the body's natural capacity to heal. Developed in early 20th-century Japan by Mikao Usui, Reiki is rooted in the understanding that we are made of energy — and when that energy moves freely, we feel like ourselves. When it gets stuck, we feel the cost. A Reiki session is an invitation to slow down. You'll remain fully clothed and rest on a heated, cushioned table in a quiet, warm room. Soft music plays. Your practitioner uses light, still touch — or hovers their hands just above the body — at a series of placements along the head, torso, and limbs. There is nothing to do. The work happens beneath the surface. What you feel during a session is uniquely yours. Some clients describe a gentle tingling, warmth, or a sense of energy moving. Others feel nothing at all and simply drift into deep rest. Many fall asleep. None of these experiences are a measure of whether Reiki is "working" — they're simply how your body receives energy. The benefits unfold regardless of whether you are awake or asleep. Most clients leave feeling clearer, calmer, and more themselves. Reiki supports nervous system regulation, eases emotional and physical tension, and creates space for the kind of integration that's difficult to access in daily life. It pairs beautifully with medical care, mental health support, pregnancy, life transitions, grief, and seasons of overwhelm. Reiki does not replace your primary care — it works alongside it. How to prepare: eat a light meal a few hours before your session and stay well hydrated. Avoid a heavy meal beforehand — your body's energy is best spent on receiving, not digesting. Wear comfortable, loose clothing. Plan for a gentle pace afterward if you can; many clients feel a deep openness in the hours that follow.
